Food Scraps:
Kai to Kai which means your food scarps that includes any discarded
food, peeps etc can be put in your food scraps bin which then generates fertilizer to
grow further food as well generates clean energy. A great initiative started by
Auckland Council. Easy to use and collected weekly. For more information and

Inorganic Collection:
Did you know that you can book a yearly collection to get
items like portable fans, cycles, unused furniture and other items that may be sitting
in your garage accumulating dust. Auckland Council then refurbishes the items that
can be refurbished and donated or sold through a Community Recycling centre at a
minimal price creating a circular economy model. There is specific dimensions and
standards to follow for health and Safety purposes. Please refer to below link for

Rubbish:
While the quest is that nothing goes in Rubbish bin, we understand that it
is not always possible. However, we must use the Rubbish bin sensibly to ensure
that safety of our truck drivers and the environment. In last year only they have been
around 27 incidents of truck fire due to people putting batteries, gas bottles and items
that DO Not go into your Rubbish bin. These items can safely be disposed of to your
closest Community Recycling Centres (CRC’s) and Transfer station. Please click on
